Reprinted from Architectural Review at the request of the British Road Federation. Nice period piece promulgating an almost utopian future of well designed roads. The BRF call for motorways to be built, but also segregated cycle lanes (still waiting for those), and highlight the clutter around new roads that Iain Nairn was to rail against twenty years later. Includes some interesting German examples.
