This book is in Very Good+ condition and has a Good dust jacket. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping. The text pages are clean and bright. The front and rear pastedown covers have generalized toning. The dust jacket has edge tear, nicks , wrinkles, chips and bits missing. The reverse of the dust jacket has several piece of tape placed there by a former owner. "Dynasty of Death was her first published work, a family saga lasting from 1837 to World War I, about two families in western Pennsylvania who rise to control a great armaments business. The story was continued in The Eagles Gather (1940) and The Final Hour (1944). As a writer Caldwell was praised for her intricately plotted and suspenseful stories, which depicted family tensions and the development of the U. S.
