The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some beginning bumping. There is some light fading to the spine of the book. The text pages are clean and bright. The front endpaper has some light glue residue (not visible, but you can feel it as roughness) . The price clipped dust jacket has edg wear, nicking, several tiny edge chips and rubbing to the spine joints. The white portions of the dust jacket, especially the rear panel, and including both front and rear flaps have light toning. "James Mallahan Cain (July 1, 1892 – October 27, 1977) was an American author and journalist. Cain vehemently opposed labeling, but he is usually associated with the hardboiled school of American crime fiction and is seen as one of the creators of the roman noir. Several of his crime novels inspired successful movies." (from Wikipedia). Very Good+ in Good dust jacket .
