The small illustrations by each day have been hand-coloured as far as early April- with some considerable skill. A good example of an early Greenaway Birthday Book which has been used by a Victorian child. There are over 25 entries in various hands- it appears that the owner had her friends and family enter their own names and birthdays; the name of the original owner, an E M Byass, appears on the presentation page. Other surnames include Garrett, Wimble, Davies, Bourdon, Draper, Taylor, Garraway, Ashton, Sergeant and Allen.Original spine relaid. New endpapers. The boards are good with some hand-colouring to the vignettes. Good condition. Good.
