In stiff red boards with the title gold-stamped to the front and spine. The title page adds the following: (with) a general railway station list; a complete electric telegraph directory and a map of Great Britain with part of Ireland. 148 pages plus another 8 pages of advertising. The map is enclosed in a pocket within the front endpapers; one side is a map of Great Britain with the railways and an index the other a Submarine Telegraph Company map of Britain and Europe with information in its services and prices. Rubbing to head and foot of spine and the edge of the front by the map pocket. Some edge tears to the map and a weakening to what is sometimes described as the front hinge of the book but overall in Good to VG condition. Images available.
