Description: London, Spottiswoode. 1907. Book, Poems of Thomas Gray published by Spottiswoode London for Eton College 1907. A prize binding in full leather size 27 by 18 cm. 164 pages. Illustrated with a portrait of Gray and an engraving of a country churchyard by Radclyffe and with a series of decorative motifs to the beginning and end of each poem. All edges gilt. The school crest is gold-stamped to the front and back boards and the spine has gilt decoration and raised bands. This appears to be intended for a prize but has no bookplate or indication that it was ever awarded. Front board has a minor scratch mark 3 cm. long otherwise Good to VG condition. Images available.
