The book takes the form of a series of linear maps and corresponding sections of text that serve as a guide to the river. These are illustrated by small photographs pasted in as a form of vignette around the various maps and engravings. There is also a brief section on the other main canals and rivers of the south of England. A fascinating original. Owner's signature in ink to front endpaper. The spine might have been re-affixed to the text block at some time in the past but the binding is sound and the contents in Good to VG condition. Images available.
