Description: London, London and North Western Railway. 1912. Book, North Union Junction Line: Euxton to Bolton Section circa 1912. A linear map based on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch to the mile map made from 40 sections of varying sizes and extending to approximately 25 feet in length by twelve and a half inches wide. Shows the railway plus the ownership of land adjacent to the line stations new stretches of line streets factories mills mines and individual buildings. Various additions have been made by hand to record the names of owners the dates land was acquired rents etc. The individual sections of the map have been laid in a linear strip form with some occasional angled pieces used to reflect bends in the line. With the stamp of the LNER office in Manchester dated 1914. Folds into stiff marbled boards size 33 by 20 cm. with a L&NW Railway bookplate to the front. VG condition. Unique. Images available.
