Title: The Happy Holidays; Or, Brothers and Sisters at Home.
Description: London Griffith & Farran, 1890's?. 8th thou of 1st ed. Size [210p, b&w frontispiece, adverts] (Emma Davenport wrote several stories for a juvenile audience. This copy is particularly interesting because a teacher inscribed the book to a student in 1885, but evidently never gave it to this student but instead glued the front end paper shut and then inscribed it to a different student names "Addie Sparkhall" the following year.) Brown cloth hardboards with gold lettering & floral design, covers very good except some corners & spine ends slightly worn through cloth, & minor wear to other edges, page ends dusted & browned, front end paper previously glued shut but now opened leaving dark brown glued marks all over & teacher inscription dated 1885 partly erased, inscription from teacher dated 1886 in ink on back of frontispiece, pages very good except occasional brown spotting or smudge, good condition except glue marks on front end paper, tight & clean copy, Fair
