Description: New York, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1929. Hardcover. Scribner's printed 1,000 copies for sale and an additional 30 copies for presentation. The publisher withheld one of the 30 presentation sets as their office file copy. Over the years, three of the volumes (8, 17 and 18) strayed; we offer the remainder. Each bears the personal ownership stamp of a former Scribners' director of production. As has been noted in other copies of this set, the cover cloth of different volumes, if it was originally of the same hue, has aged differently, but this is not a mixed set. The edges of some of the printed backstrip labels are frayed. Otherwise in very good condition. 15 volumes, separately paged. .
