First published as 'The England of Charles II' in 1934 and revised by the author in 1960. An indispensable companion to Sir Arthur Bryant's other seventeenth century studies. Stock of the original edition was destroyed in the Blitz of 1940: this new edition is both revised and illustrated. The book describes 'a visit to a far country..the land we now inhabit, but then occupied by our great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents'.
