Frontispiece of the Mass of St. Giles. The author has followed a very comprehensive and orderly plan, including a great many historical and interesting facts bearing on the Mass. The angle of approach has been taken from St. Paul's treatment of the scarifices of the Old Testament as 'the shadow of the good things to come', and in simple language he traces out the theological, historical, liturgical and devotional aspects of the Mass.
