Title: Gifts of an Eagle
Description: London, Harvill Press. 1972, First Edition. (ISBN: 0002722720). Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First UK edition. A Very Good+ unmarked copy with complete dustjacket which has a little wear to top edge. Lady, a Golden Eagle, was taken as a chick from her nest in the mountains near Carpinteria, California, and although eagles are protected birds, Ed Durden had received permission to do this for the purpose of study and scientific research. Little did he he and his son Kent guess that she was to make her home with them for 16 years, or that when they released her to fly off with a mate, that she would leave a big gap in their family circle. Never has a wild Golden Eagle been observed over so long a period, and this account by Kent who was associated with all his father's adventures with Lady admirably and uniquely tells her story. C3A. Very Good/Very Good.
