Title: Gytha's Message - a Tale of Saxon England
Description: London, Blackie and Son. 1905. Cloth, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Ill.: Staniland, C.J. Gilt and red titles with black and cream shield, axe and spears pictorial to spine with Saxon warrior pictorial to front on green cloth boards. Boards have some light marks to back with some small light marks to front but are generally very clean with just a touch of wear to corner tips only. Internally very clean, tight and unmarked with light foxing to closed edges and with one plate loose. 224 pages and 24 page publisher's catalogue and 4 illustrations by C.J. Staniland. Not dated but first published in 1885 and then in 1905. The author is the pseudonym of Emma Dixon (1837-1909) a prolific Victorian children's author. A bright attractive volume. NOT EX LIB A1C. Very Good/No Jacket.
