Title: Without Love
Description: London, Collins and The Book Society. 1957. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. A Very Good + unmarked copy with VG dustjacket which has a small loss to spine tail and is not price clipped. This edition issued on first publication by the Book Society in association with William Collins, March 1957. A novel set in the summer of 1954 where Michael Brennan is ordered to kill a renegade to the subversive international organisation he is serving in Barcelona. He has killed before, often and without compunction, as a member of the S.S. in Russia and the communist resistance in France but he suddenly finds himself suspecting that the God of his youth may after all exist and can a man go on meditating murder and still hope for mercy at the end. If he refuses to commit it, the Organisation's summary punishment will certainly leave no chance for a last minute of grace. His sister arrives from England and offers one way out of his dilemma and his fiery Spanish mistress another. B2C. Very Good/Very Good.
