His family had to cope with the huge changes as they learned to cope with their son's destiny and to appreciate their little Lhamo Dhondup as his holiness or Kundun, a re-incarnation of thirteen previous Dalai Lamas and later they would have to cope with the shadow of China's invasion in 1951 and exile to India. The author's previous book Tears of Blood in 1992 told of the Tibetan people's plight after China's invasion and at that time began her growing friendship with the Dalai Lama's family. NOT EX LIB L.
