Title: Jewel's Story Book
Description: New York, Grosset & Dunlap. 1931. Cloth, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Dark blue titles on turquoise blue silk type cloth boards which are clean and unmarked with no wear although the spine is lightly faded with a small raised line to front and bumping to lower corner tips. Internally very clean and unmarked. Coloured pictorial endpapers, top edge blue and fore edge uncut. The American author (1854-1927) first published this work in 1903 and it describes in conversation and prose the events in an eight year old girl's life when she moves to live with her widowed grandfather and is made unwelcome in his home by the others who live there and by the staff and tells how she copes with this.
