Description: London, Hutchinson. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Gilt title on red cloth boards which are clean, unmarked and with no wear or damage. Internally there is some marks and crinkling to endpapers and some foxing to closed edges else clean, tight and unmarked. The dustjacket is complete but has some wear and tears. 2nd impression not dated c. 1945 ( first was 1944). The author (1864-1948) was Past President of the Institute of Journalists, Editor of The Daily Express for 30 years and author of the famous R.D.B.'s Diary. He recounts his early life in a maze of picturesque memories, commencing as far back as 1867, when buffalo roamed the prairies of the undeveloped West, cowboys were real beings and Red Indians were in evidence as friends. It is the story of a boy's ambitions intermingled with the growth of a mid-western town, whose pioneer settlers spoke to each other in Latin, Greek, French, German and English. A SCARCE TITLE 11.
