A novel set in New York in 1909 of a woman, Temperance O'Neil, who is a women's rights activist and although rich her money is controlled by her stepfather. The story moves to Scotland where she is sent to matchmake a wife for her stepfather's nephew and if successful she will be allowed home. 12. Near Fine/Very Good.
