Pictorial decorated boards of huntsman on horse riding through wood with eagle, in yellow with gilt title to spine. Boards have some light marks to front and just a touch of light wear to spine head and tail and to corner tips. Internally there is light foxing to pages else clean and tight. 8 original full page illustrations for this edition by H.R. Millar. Top edge gilt. Fore and lower edges uncut. The original of this story is to be found in Victor Hugo's Le Rhin (1842). The verse translation is the work of Charles Tennyson, Scholar of King's College, Cambridge. An attractive SCARCE TITLE 4. Very Good TEG/No Jacket.
