With 24 plate (full page) engravings plus 100 small engravings. Halfbound in leather, the spine elaborately decorated in gilt, but the ends of the spine and corners are worn, the edge of the bottom of the spine is torn, o./w. a nice, firmly bound, tight copy. Marbled endpages. Contents clean, except page following flyleaf is faintly marked, faint marks on pages 123, 263 and faint blue mark on p.165. No inscription. The frontispiece portrait of Burns is outlined in red pencil around his image on the tissue guard, probably drawn by a child. The engraving isn't marked. I can send more scans.
