Beautiful silk, gold-decorated, end-leaves. Front and back-cover with gold decorations. Spine on 5 raised band, nicely gilt. ¶ Nice edition of this poetical works by William Hamilton. Illustrated with an engraved portrait. The portrait seems to be a copy of an oil-painting by his cousin Gavin Hamilton. Also 2 engraved plates. Among the poems the ode " On the Battle of Gladsmuir, 1745". Early example of the Stanford Press printing. Very good copy.
