Title: MICKEY MOUSE AND HIS FRIENDS.
Description: Racine, WI: Whitman, 1936. First Edition. Softcover. Some light edgewear; a few small scrapes to lower front corner of cover. Head and foot of spine is torn to top and bottom staples, but intact between them. Corners of first couple pages creased, and lower corners separating slightly. Covers and pages with some light soiling. ; One of the earliest books in the Whitman's linen-like, oversized storybooks series of the 1930s and 40s. These are very nice illustrations of the early characterizations from the Disney animators. The book clearly has delighted the younger set, and seen some use, but is remarkably intact and is still a beautiful example of the earlier representations of these delightful movie stars. ; 4to; 10 pages; Here are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck (with the long bill of his early years) , Horace Horsecollar, Goofy, Clarabelle Cow, Pluto, and the Three Little Pigs, all in one, cute Christmas poem from 1936. These characters were the stars of the Disney Silly Symphonies animated film shorts. The Silly Symphonies and this book both predated the release of the first full length animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.. G+/NONE.
