Previous owners neat name on front pastedown endpaper and off-setting from the dustwrapper on both blank free endpapers. Overall a lovely bright copy in publishers red cloth with gilt lettering to spine and blind stamped Cape logo on rear board. In the rare original dustwrapper with wood engraved illustrations to front panel and spine. A near fine copy of the book in a very good dustwrapper with rubbing to edges and darkening to the spine. Some chipping to the top of the spine but still overall a collectable copy of this uncommon title, the first book to be illustrated by Ravilious and showing that, even at the age of 23 he was a master of wood engraving.
