Description: R. Ackermann. London. ND.,circa 1832.. EARLY EDITION. 8vo. xii,280pp. (6.9 x 4.1 inches). Inscribed by Author to the front free endpaper; " Presented to Miss L. Lions, by her humble servant, the Author". The published date has been carefully removed from the title page. The book was first published in 1831 and this copy is strictly contemporary with that edition but i am guessing that the date was removed so that it could not be easily identified as a reprint. Finely illustrated with Rowlandson's fantastic plates. A very good clean copy with a couple of the gatherigs sprung a little. In the publishers illustrated paper covered boards which are heavily rubbed and worn to the corners. Re-spined with plain dark green cloth. Overall not the best of copies but uncommon with Harrison's inscription.:
