Title: BRITISH SYNONYMY. Or, an attempt at regulating the choice of words in familiar conversation.
Description: G. G. and J. Robinson. London. 1794. FIRST EDITION. 2 volumes. 8vo. (9 x 5.8 inches). Volume 1: viii, 423, Volume 2: iv, 416p. A very good copy in the original publishers grey paper covered boards with blue paper spines. Hand written paper labels. Professionally repaired with archive paper to strengthen the joint between the half title and title page and last blank free endpaper and pastedown in volume one. Volume two with archive paper between half title and title page and the last two leaves of text. A clean set with page edges untrimmed. Some rubbing and bumping to the binding and loss to the paper spines, more so on volume one, but overall a very presentable set, and scarce in the publishers original binding.
