Twelve large format full colour plates, each with a printed tissue guard, mounted onto cream coloured paper. Original Publishers binding of half fawn buckram with gold coloured moire silk to the boards. Gilt lettering to the front board. Silk ribbons to the spine, with two having come loose at one end but still present. Silk ties to the outer edge of the boards are lacking. Some marks and staining to the binding but internally the pages and illustrations are fine and clean throughout. Previous owner bookplate to the front paste down endpaper. An attractive presentation with the largest format of these, or indeed any of Rackham's published illustrations, making complete sets uncommon due to many being broken up to frame the plates. The original paintings, some of Rackham's favourites, are reproduced here actual size.
