Withy), lvi, xxii, 304, -- Second part; (1 - Portrait of Cotton), xlviii, iv, ii, iv,128, (viii, index). Complete. Separate title to second part, dated 1760. Illustrated with 14 engraved full page plates, including one of music, plus 16 engraved text illustrations. A clean copy with good strong impressions of the plates. Bound in contemporary full tan calf, with a later dark brown calf title label added. Spine with expert replacements of the top and bottom panels, and two board corners to match the original. Five raised bands. Compartments ruled in gilt. Date to the bottom panel in gilt. Small previous owner bookplate on front pastedown endpaper. Some offsetting to the endpapers, from the leather turn ins. Hinges are a little cracked to the surface but firm and strong. Corners a little bumped but overall an attractive and tactile copy of this attractive edition in an expertly restored early binding.
