The spine with decorative floral design and lettering in gilt. Decorative floral design to top and bottom boards. Inner boards with four ruled lines in gilt, surrounding marbled endpapers. All edges gauffered. Previous owner's neat 3 line inscription, dated 1897, to front blank endpaper. The binding is a little rubbed to the extremities, and the gilt is a little dulled but overall this is a highly decorative fine quality leather binding in very good condition.
