Title: An excellent bound volume of 20 early nineteenth-century provincially printed auction catalogues held within the vicinity of Derbyshire. The auctions range in date from 1809 to 1842, the majority held at Ashborne, but other towns are represented: Matlock, Wirksworth, Bakewell, Leek, Chesterfield & Derby. The contents of the catalogues are wide and varied, they include household furniture, libraries of books, agricultural equipment, dairy & brewing utensils, wines, etc. The volume was put together by Thomas Bateman, a keen antiquarian and grandfather of Thomas Bateman Jr., the pioneering Derbyshire archaeologist. None of these catalogues are represented by Copac.
