First gathering loose, age-toning, original gilt lettered navy cloth with gilt initials to upper board, sl. cloth loss to upper board, spine sl. chipped with sm. split to head of spine. ¶ Toy 761 ‘A voyage to India and Australia via the Suez Canal in the Sunbeam. Because of poor health Lady Brassey went out to Bombay in a P & O Liner. After she joined ‘Sunbeam’, the yacht cruised through the East Indies and sailed south to circumnavigate Australia. She was homeward bound from Port Darwin when Lady Brassey died and was buried at sea, 14 September 1887.’ Inscribed ‘Lady Victoria Buxton from Brassey In memoriam.’ Lady Victoria Buxton (1839–1916) was a British philanthropist principally known for her work with the Mothers' Union and Young Women's Christian Association.
