Description: John Murray, 1833-4. 3 vols. Large 8vo. Engraved vignette t.ps., 123 engraved plates (6.1" x 8.8"). Some light browning, marbled e.ps., inner gilt turn-ins, black gilt tooled morocco, minor rubbing with boards sl. warped, a.e.g. ¶ The Landscape Illustrations were issued in parallel to Murray’s Life and Works, initially published in parts 1833-4 [as above], later appearing with descriptive text by Brockenden in a three-volume collected edition. In their published book form the vignettes and title-page vignettes were issued in foolscap 8vo book size i.e 6 ¾ x 4 ¼ ins, as well as the various quarto collected editions. Artists including Turner, Clarkson Stanfield, David Roberts, J.D.Harding, A W Callcott, J F Lewis, Samuel Prout, etc.
