Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ A history of Stephen Báthory [ 1533 - 1586 ] and his rule of the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth in the 1570s. The book also covers the short reign of Henry of Valois, [ 1551 - 1589 ] who was the Polish king from 1573 - 1575. The book is based upon the MS of the Jesuit John Baptist Albertrandi [ 1731 - 1808 ] who was the Royal Librarian and Bishop of Zenopolis. His MS were edited by Ignacy Zegota Onacewicz [ 1780 - 1845 ] and the book was first published in 1823.
