Title: Zápisník Zmizelého : Básne Samoukovyek
Description: Josef Hodek, V Plzni , 1928, 1st edition. Cloth, VG. 41pp, 5 woodcut illustrations, rebound in green cloth with the original plain blue wrappers bound in, a nice copy. LIMITED to 150 copies, this being copy 146, SIGNED by the publisher, cloth a little sunned, bookplate, otherwise a near fine copy. Laid in is a sales ticket from an Antiquarian bookshop in Brno dated 1979. Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ A poem entitled 'The Diary of One Who Disappeared' which was published anonymously in a Czech newspaper in 1916. The poem made a lasting impression on the composer Leoš Janácek who worked them into a song cycle. This edition was specially published to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Ceskoslovenské Republiky A Vystavy Soudobé Kultury ( Czechoslovak Republic Exhibition of Contemporary Culture ) in Brno.
