The book gives advice on the correct writing impliments, how to chose & mount the board, inks - and how to mix & varnish, gilding, block lettering, design of the layout, holland blinds, paper lettering and lithographic work. The book shows several specimin alphabets as well as completed designs. Uncommon, only the Oxford & BL copies of the first edition recoreded on COPAC.
