Although Palekh art started in the 17th century and still goes on, this book concentrates on its zenith during the 1920s and 1930s. Soviet Palekh art was a blend of old techniques and new themes as can also be seen in earlier Soviet porcelain, textiles, murals and other decorative and applied art. Hardback.
