Title: The Commercial and Conversational Spanish Grammar and Reader. A New and Practical Method of Learning the Spanish Language.
Description: London, Crosby Lockwood & Son, 1891. Green cloth, plain spine, upper board gilt lettered, stamped in blind, marbled fore-edges, 134pp. 16pp publisher's catalogue and lists to eps. neat copperplate inscription (James Shaw, Pendleton, Manchester, 1901) to title-page verso. In very good condition, cloth a little bubbled. Scarce. Thus reviewed by the Colonies and India, (May 30, 1891): " So rapidly has the commercial intercourse between England and Spain increased of late years that it is almost as necessary for those who are about to enter upon a mercantile career to learn Spanish thoroughly as French or German and there is little doubt that it will in the future be much more generally taught than it has been in the past. In view of this, Mr. Oswald Korth has brought out his present work, which seems a carefully arranged and clearly expressed little book He has adopted a method rather different from that used by other grammarians and has taken special care to avoid all abstruse matters and obscure and to put his rules into the fewest possible words so that bad and defective memories may not be overtaxed..
