A talk about the natural history of China (and the reason for its ignorance) given at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1773. Grill (1736-92) was a Swedish merchant and director of the Swedish East India Company. He resided for about seven years in Canton as resident supercargo in the 1760's. In this speech he mentions the natural history collections he brought from China for Carl von Linné. Cordier BS 3258-9. Löwendahl 570.
