A German version of a collection of articles taken from the "El Mercurio Peruano", a newspaper which appeared twice a week from January 1791 - April 1794 in Lima. The articles deal with natural history, minearology, commerce, geography, topography, etc and travels of the missionaries (Franciscans) in the mountainous regions of Peru. Volume one contains a German translation of Joseph Skinner's "The Present State of Peru...", London 1805, translated by Ch. Weyland and published by F.I. Bertruch. Volume two contains a translation of the last 6 volumes of the "Mercurio Peruano", which was never translated into English. Here translated from the original Spanish by E.A.
