Anne Blunt and her husband poet Wilfrid Scawen Blunt travelled extensively in Arabia and the Middle East between 1877 and 1897. They bought Arabian horses from Bedouin tribesmen and the Egyptian Pasha Sherif. Lady Anne became fluent in Arabic and gained insights into the people's life and customs.
