Original pictorial cloth, stamped in gilt and black, rubbed, some damp staining to the covers but internally fine. First edition, posthumously published. Important work of the gold discoveries in Matabeleland and Mashionaland (Zimbabwe). Baines led an expedition in the 1860s to secure licences for a gold-mining company from King Lobengula.
