A translation of a classic Chinese work dealing with the ceremonies of the Chow dynasty accompanied by notes by the editor. William Gingell (1816-63) was a British surgeon of the East India Company who after two years' service in India was transferred to Nanking in China where he stayed until his death. Cordier BS 1408.
