Small tear neatly repaired to inner margin of pages 41/2. First edition of this charming book about Tahiti based on Stuart-Wortley's visit to the island in 1880. (The same year as the Kingdom of Tahiti became of French colony). Stuart-Wortley has written the preface and the main text is written by Annie Brassey who visited Tahiti in 1876. She made the grand tour of the island and fell in love with it. Robinson p.202. Theakstone p. 32-3.
