Swedish edition of MacGahan's reports about the destruction and massacres in Bulgaria by Turkish soldiers in 1876, first published in the London Daily News. The articles caused widespread popular outrage against Turkey in Britain, and were a major factor in preventing Britain from supporting Turkey in the Russian-Turkish war (1877-78), which led to Bulgarian gaining independence for the Ottoman Empire. Contains also a report by Eugene Schuyler to the American minister in Constantinople.
