Original pictorial wrappers bound in somewhat later half red calf, lightly rubbed. Bookplates. First edition. Deals with military costumes and armour from the Fujiwara epoch to the end of the Ashikaga period. The plates are reproduced photographs taken by Ogawa, Japan's leading photographer at the time, and printed by National Chemigraph Co. in St. Louis, USA. A beautiful and clean copy.
