London: British Colour Council, 1951. 2 vols, narrow 8vo, 12 accordion-fold panels with a total of 240 color samples on silk ribbon arranged by B.C.C. number; 56pp. Turquoise green (B.C.C. 121) cloth, lettered in silver. Fine set housed in matching cloth slipcase, complete with British Colour Council Publications brochure, and errata notice for correcting discrepencies between the Colour Standard and Interior Decoration dictionaries laid-in. ¶ Second edition. Originally published in 1934 and reissued thrice through 1946, the present work consitutes an expanded version with the addition of a further 20 colors including Eggshell Blue, Mayflower Lilac, Tuscan Yellow, Kenya Red, and Medici Crimson. The accompanying text volume contains notes on the origins and derivation of each of the 240 colors in the sample book, noting for example that B.C.C. 121 Turquoise Green 'has been matched to samples of the greener variety of the opaque precious stone'.
