The Life of Bishop Forbes is followed by the History of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Ross followed by Bishop Forbes Journals of 1762 and 1770 - there were two journals for each of these years with much detail of his visits to parts of Scotland: in 1762 he visited the Dioceses of Ross and Caithness including Badenoch, Inverness, Fortrose, Dingwall, Cromarty, Tain, Dornoch, Caithness, Ousdale, Scrabster, Wick, Boleskin, Dalwhinnie and Thurso. In 1770 he visited Ross-shire, Strathnairn, Lochaber and Appin in Argyllshire including Fort William, Ballachulish, Callander and Stirling. Including extensive lists of the names of candidates for confirmation in different localities - 373 named persons in Lochaber alone - 11 in Onich, 13 in Ballachulish 21 at Callart etc. With an extensive index. The book is tight, clean and unmarked with original endpapers but there is some rubbing of the spine edges and top and bottom of the spine. See scans. . Good +
