The journal is written in a clear hand by an unnamed young man with comment initially on his cold baths, other passengers and much detail about time and distance. Victoria dock to Tilbury to load 18 tons of gunpowder - signaled a warship HMS Aboukit en route from Gibraltar to Alexandria. Tunis, Malta (ashore at the Golden and Silver gates), Famagousta in Cyprus Haiffa Jaffa ; transfers to S.S, Rowan Prince carrying cotton, oranges, dairy seed. Algeirs. Collision in harbour - Turkish warships and etc. The log peters out as the ship nears Liverpool. - though there may be a page missing. An page charts coal consumption and distance throughout January and February - but a page may be missing. See scans. . Good
