Description: Edward Johnson Solicitors, 1855. Soft Cover. A folio (approx 20 by 12) poster advertising the sale of the estate of Mr Edward Johnson at Old Hurst, Pidley and Somersham, Huntingdonshire, being near to the town of St Ives, and the residence known as Pidley House. The poster is the front page of a ten sheet catalogue of the auction, a double page of which is a large coloured map (24 by 20) of the estate focused on the junction just south of Pidley. Names of owners bordering the estate, named on the map include, William Ingle, Ibbott Mason, Samuel Hillyard, John Vye, James Hempstead, Thomas Ekins, Samuel Brown, C.Sweeting, John Asher, Thomas and William Holmes, C.Margetts, G.P.Cherry, William Faux, Freeman Anniss. One sheet of the document is a handwritten agreement, detailing the sale of lot 14 to the Eastern Counties Railway Company for the sum of £150. The sale is to take place at 3 O'clock at the Rose and Crown, Somersham on July 26th 1855. The scedule folded as usual - unfolds to folio size and the detailed coloured map is 25 x 19. See scans. Condition very good with a little wear to edges. Map though very folded is in very good condition. . Very Good
