Title: Priced Catalogue of the Collection of Books on Angling Formed by A. E. Wilson-Browne of Sutton Coldfield. {Frank Benson’s copy, Inscribed to him with a Typed Letter Signed Addressed to Mr. Benson, Laid-in}.
Description: Birmingham. Privately published. 1924. Quarto (9 1/2 x 6). [5], 6-73 pp. Inscribed and signed by Wilson-Browne on the title page. Laid-in is a typed letter signed written by Wilson-Browne addressed to American artist, Frank W. Benson; it’s dated May 14, 1931. Frank Benson is known for his realistic paintings, impressionism, and etchings. Wilson-Browne sent his listings of angling books for sale to Frank Benson with the proviso that few remain for sale, the majority long sold to collectors; he also pointed out that he did have a "few scarce and desirable books to dispose of," and requested Mr. Benson reply with a list of titles he would be interested in. The book is also a fine reference; yes, it’s a list of offerings but it’s also a bibliographical check-list, which includes many scarce and rare books, including interesting details on the editions and printings. The book is bound in black cloth spine and cream boards with black titles. A scarce publication in very good condition with light edge wear to the binding.
